Happy Air - Phuket-Langkawi - Langkawi Gazette (pic Phuket Gazette)Mark, 11 Sept. 2009 / Phuket Gazette, Thanasorn Chookate

What a great idea – to have a flight from Langkawi to Phuket and back !

The ‘Happy Air’ – newly launched in Thailand – will do just this:
Beginning in October 2009 it will fly a Weekend-Phuket-Langkawi route on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The flight will last about 50 minutes and cost about Thai Baht 4500 (at the moment ca. RM 465.00) one way.

“Happy Air's flights will offer complimentary champagne and on-board meals, including ‘gourmet sandwiches’, fresh fruit juices, tea and coffee, and, on the Langkawi runs, the Phuket Gazette newspaper as part of the airline’s ‘premium’ service.”

The aircraft, made in Sweden, is powered with 2 turbo-prop engines and can carry up to 34 passengers with 20kg of luggage each. It reaches a cruising speed of  about 480 km/h.
