The bridge in Kuah should be finished before the LIMA in December !
The federal government has set up a special monitoring committee for development projects in Langkawi to ensure that the resort island continues to develop rapidly.
"The committee will focus on monitoring projects that are being implemented and those that are new as well as those that have been abandoned to ensure that Langkawi continues to develop rapidly as a prime tourist destination,"
Johari told reporters after chairing a meeting of the Kedah Federal Action Council here on Thursday.
He said Lada had also been directed to complete various abandoned projects like the Sungai Kuah bridge costing more that RM3 million which had been stalled for more than three years.
"The government wants the bridge to be ready before the 2009 Langkawi International Marine and Air Show (Lima'09) in December and the government will revive the Kampung Buku project in Lubuk Semilang Ulu Melaka besides assisting traders at the Pekan Rabu Kuah complex costing more than RM8 million," he said.
