PrintE-mail Small true funny Langkawi Story

Mark, 5.8.02/ reportet from L.

Langkawi Gazette - Container in LangkawiFinally my container from the Philippines arrived . . .
The transport company was sending the wooden container by a small truck from the harbour here in Langkawi to the parking area outside the apartment block where my wife and I are living.
There must have been some misunderstanding, because the truck that delivered the container, 450 kg, had no lift or crane.

The driver told me that his company would send a crane to lift the container down from the truck.
After half an hour the crane arrived. I was a little surprised of the size of it. But the problem was solved, and I was happy to have my households items from the Philippines.

The transport company, Lim Thye Kiang Transport SDN. BHD. did not charge me any extra money for the cLangkawi Gazette - KATO Cranerane. Honest people.

BTW: If anyone would like to have the container:
The container is solid, build on a pallet, 124 X 124 cm, 220 cm high. 3.4 m3.

It is made of 10 mm marine plywood, it has a door and can be locked with a padlock.
My intention was to cut the container up after having used it (for my transport of my household items from the Philippines) and use the marine plywood to build a "bunk bed".
But I think it is a pity to destroy a well build wooden container like this, maybe someone has use of it. So I swap it for 5 sheet's of 4 X 8 marine plywood.
