The success of La Chocolatine does not come as a surprise: The owners used to run for years the famous patisserie ‘Le Colibri’ in St. Martin in the Caribbean, frequented among others also by celebrities such as the world-renowned guitarist Alexandre Lagoya or the legendary tennis player Yannick Noah.

La Chocolatine enchants with an authentic French flair, complete with the emotive melodies of chansons softly playing in the background. The intimate patio is shielded by blossoming bushes and plants. Interior walls are painted in sunny yellow, and decorated with atmospheric black and white photographs. The furnishings are understated, with the focal point of La Chocolatine being the display cabinet featuring brioche, the flaky, golden-brown croissants, mouthwatering three-chocolate mousse, raspberry tartelette, coffee eclair, millefeuilles, chocolate meringue, lemon tart, opera or Paris-Brest.
All pastries are handmade on the premises by a French Pastry Chef, utilizing traditional patisserie methods, and the finest ingredients available: premium flour, top quality French butter and 99% cocoa-butter. The exquisite Nespresso® entices with a strong, delicious aroma. Hot chocolate is made of milk and real chocolate. Tea lovers will enjoy the highly regarded Fortnum and Mason loose leaf teas and the high-end Kusmi Tea mélange.
Those who prefer it savoury will love quiches with salmon, broccoli and other scrumptious fillings, the freshly made sandwiches, and delicious salads accompanied by genuine French baguette. I think it worth adding that La Chocolatine is one of the growing number of Langkawi business that adopt a positive stand towards the environment.
For takeaway food disposable cutlery is made from biodegradable wood, paper bags are used instead of plastic, cardboard is used instead of styrofoam, paper cups are given instead of plastic.
Even the drinking straws at la Chocolatine are bio-degradable and are made from natural rice cellulose.
Hopefully more businesses in Langkawi will be inspired to emulate La Chocolatine's pro-active and environmentally friendly stance.
