HARI RAYA 2011
The Charity Club Langkawi has recently delivered hampers, monetary gifts for children, cookies and cordial to 23 families in Langkawi to help them enjoy this special celebration.
The hampers were donated by the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club and four members of their Management Team accompanied Belinda, Lyn and Sheila from The Charity Club on the delivery day, travelling virtually all round the island. The party were met by excited children and adults delighted with the goodies.
Abdul Rahman Mahani, Senior Manager – Sales & Marketing at Royal Langkawi Yacht Club said “This is a significant moment and as part of the society and establishment in Langkawi, Royal Langkawi Yacht Club feel it is the duty of individuals and corporate companies to get together and contribute to those less fortunate, so that these families can celebrate the festivities in a good spirit of Aidilfitri.
Kudos to The Charity Club Langkawi for oganizing the charity drive and we hope that more associations and non-government organizations will organize such a charity drive on other festivities too.”
Belinda Koh, Chairman of The Charity Club Langkawi said “It is important for us to be able to do something special for 'our' families at Hari Raya and to have been donated everything that we have distributed enables us to use our funds elsewhere to help underprivileged families.
We would also like to thank Kak Su of Villa Molek, Rosmiza bt Shuib and three anonymous donors for their donations.”
