Langkawi District Office, Langkawi Municipal Council, Tourism Ministry, Tourism Malaysia, Langkawi Department of Health, Marine Department, Department of Environment, Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism, Malaysia Airport Berhad, Indah Water Konsortium, E-Idaman, Malaysia Travel & Tour Association (MATTA), Langkawi Tour Guide Association (LTGA), Langkawi Tourism Association (LTA), Malaysia Nature Society (MNS), Malaysia Association Hotel (MAH),Malaysia Association of Hotel Owner (MAHO), Malaysia Budget Hotel Association (MBHA), Duty Free Association, Langkawi Tourist Boat Association etc.
This program is to acknowledge the tourism players that have demonstrated outstanding achievement and success during 2010/2011, recognizing the hard work of tourism operators who go that extra step to provide their guests with a quality experience. It was held on 28 of January 2011 at Auditorium LADA, at 7.00 p.m and officiated by Minister of Tourism, YB Dato’ Sri Dr. Ng Yen Yen.
The annual awards showcased across 10 categories ranging from all levels of outstanding hotel/resort, restaurant, budget accommodation, boat operator, tourist guide, travel & tour agent, tourism product, retail outlet, green effort and innovative product/programme. There was one special award for tourism personality 2010/2011 which is given to individual who have played a significant part in the growth and development of the tourism industry in Langkawi. This third annual award also appreciated the tourism players, media and government agencies that have assisted and cooperated with LADA in promoting Langkawi as the premier tourism destination. The winners by categories are as follows:-
1. Category of outstanding hotel/resort – The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa
2. Category of outstanding restaurant – Putumayo Restaurant
3. Category of outstanding budget accommodation- AB Motel
4. Category of outstanding boat operator – HBS Evergreen Tour Sdn Bhd
5. Category of outstanding tourist guide – Osman bin Ayob
6. Category of outstanding travel & tour agent – Sala Travel & Tours Langkawi
7. Category of outstanding tourism product – Langkawi Cable Car
8. Category of outstanding retail outlet – Jetty Point Duty Free Complex
9. Category of outstanding green effort – Four Seasons Resort Langkawi
10. Category of outstanding innovative product/programme – Mardi Agro Park
11. Tourism Personality 2010/2011 – Mr. Megat Shahrul Azman bin Abas (Tourism Manager Langkawi Development of Authority)
