Langkawi Ferry sinks by Sofian Zack on 23 Sep 2010, 11:49 pm

Really glad i was not on that ferry. My friends car broke down and she was pleased that she was not driving at that time LOL.

by Andreas Hakim on 28 Sep 2010, 11:43 am

Hmmm: Discovering the leak at 9.30 p.m. on Monday. Sinking at 7.30 a.m. next morning. 10 hours in-between.
I saw no comment of an extraordinary collision and normally, a commercial ship has bilge pumps that cope with small leaks easily.
One million Ringit of damage. I wonder, what the insurance company comments.
I also wonder how the 'workers' spent the night...
And I further wonder if there are alternatives to get on and off Langkawi (airway?, rowing boat?, bomoh?)

My friend you are asking muchto many questions :-) by Mark on 28 Sep 2010, 11:55 am

and missed the obvious one:
Was this a promotional act to advertise the bridge to perlis ? Just joking... lol

by Andreas Hakim on 28 Sep 2010, 11:55 am

Ah ja: 25 tons displace 25,000 liters (fresh water.
This is required to make the boat sink. Mathematics: 25,000 liters in 10 hours makes 2,500 liters in 1 hour, makes 41.66 liters per minute. My (dead) grandmother can bail that.
Is my calculation incorrect?
1 Million Ringit in 10 hours will now be 1666.xx Ringit per minute. Mates: if it happens again - call me and I come with my bucket --- for half the price :D

Inspiration by Andreas Hakim on 28 Sep 2010, 3:53 pm

Mark, your bridge gave me the vision of a ... "Stairway to Heaven"
emm
or a "Highway to... where ever"
(I know that I missed the topic now)

Well Hakim, I think some people are a little bit confused by your comment. But I know exactly what you mean. We have more in common as I thought.
