YBC by Sofian Zack on 23 Sep 2010, 11:40 pm

I tought Paul Jackson is overseeing all his business matters as he's been his right hand man and a qualified yacht broker and surveyor.

Hi Sofian, by Mark on 24 Sep 2010, 12:23 am

Right, this is only logical and I wish him all the best in doing so! It's a big task.
As explained on our new website (in construction, see above) - we did not go into the brokerage business until now out of respect to our connection to Bob.
We had several boat-owners approaching us - and we have allways referred them to Bob. In future we will do the full brokerage - with the help of qualified people of course where needed.
Our strength lies in 'trying harder' and the fast promotion of the boats, locally and internationally. We will of course work together with international brokerage websites, which is a 'must'.
We did already go into the rental and property business - so this step is also simply logical for us. And although I am not a 'Certified Surveyor' (which btw is not necessary to be a broker) - I lived for 7 years on my own 52 ft Sailing Cat and love boats only too much...
But we are aware we will need help and are ready to work together with a qualified person who wishes to do so on a fair basis.

Paul Jackson has every intention of continuing in the business that he and Bob were running. Why are you attempting to hi-jack it? This is hardly 'ethical'. And to use a picture of Bob on your new website is beyond being unethical, it is being dishonest.

Ok, Terry by Mark on 26 Sep 2010, 1:46 am

I heard you.
Anything else?

If you would have attacked someone else in this manner, I would have deleted your comment.

To everybody concerned by Mark on 26 Sep 2010, 3:01 am

I hope everybody who feared for Paul is now happy with our decision to postpone our own brokerage website until 1st Mai 2011.

If you want to sell your boat, sorry. I really hope for you they fix this YBC website - or create the new one fast. :-)

OK Mark by Terry Doe on 27 Sep 2010, 12:21 am

I think you would have relished the fact that there was a bit of controversy on your site.

:-) by Mark on 27 Sep 2010, 2:00 pm

yes, things were very alive - perhaps a bit too much....

Suggestion by Peter Brabant on 29 Sep 2010, 9:50 pm

Why do you two not find an other way to work together?
Mark puts up all the boats on the Internet, that's what he can - and Paul sells them. Mark gets a few % for every boat sold by Paul. (Paul can put the same boats also on the NET if he finds time to do so..., of course). Just make 2 separate companies, if you two can not make a partnership - then go on commission basis.
If I would have a boat on YBC - it's website now not coming up at all anymore - I would be pissed with both of you !!!!

thank you by Uli Erhart on 01 Oct 2010, 2:49 pm

Finally there is somebody who is not negative and destructive.
Thank you for bringing it to the point!

Thanks everybody for commenting. by Mark on 06 Oct 2010, 1:19 pm
