Missing Drain Covers
At the entrance to the new quarter beside Pekan Rabu a whole string of drainage holes, very deep and large enough for a big motorbike tyre or a small car tire to be effectively trapped, are open since quite some time now.
It seems, that the covers were too small and have fallen into the holes.
Read on and see where it is ...
Imagine what will happen, when at night, when the sight is bad - perhaps when it is even raining and you really can't see very much - a motorbike or bicycle - or even a car with small tires, gets into these holes. A motorbike, even at low speed will overturn completely and throw the driver head over on the street. This - even without being hit by a following car - is in itself potentially deadly. Very much so.
I don't know how it is here, but in Europe, someone getting injured or killed in such a case of obvious neglect, the state, the department of roads and traffic or however it would be called, could and would be sued for millions to repair the damage.
Please, who ever is in charge of the road safety on Langkawi, have a look - make these holes safe and - tell us when you have done so, so we can give you a 'thank you'.
