PrintE-mail Some Problems with Jet Skis & Para-Sailing in Langkawi

Jet Skis on Langkawi - Langkawi-GazetteBob: 13 Feb. 2010

In the Trip Advisor Forum there is yet another complaint about an accident with a Para-Sailor damaging the instruments on the top of the mast of a sailing boat with an entangled rope (endangering the flier to fall down) and a further complaint of a Jet Ski scratching the Gel-Coat on another yacht.

It seems advisable for sailing boats not to cruise or anchor at the Pantai Cenang coast, if not necessary.

From what we know, so far the accidents have not lead to injuries, but as they are happening often, including close encounters between jet skis and swimmers, incidents like this should be reported, so the size of the problem is known to the authorities.

We were informed, LADA has set up a station where you can lodge a formal complaint - at the eastern end of Pantai Cenang beach near the "Yellow Submarine".

Existing regulations will be enforced by the Jabatan Laut and the Marine Police.
You can contact them at: 04 966 8672
