Note: If you want to engage someone for doing repairs on your boat, you should ask the person to give you some references (name/tel. of people he has worked for) and you should agree upon the costs of the job in writing, before any work is started.

This applies for anyone, including and especially EXPATS.

You could otherwise end up with a job badly done and a bill in USDs (instead of RM) amounting to about 3 times more than one would consider to be a fair price. There have been some unpleasant events in the past.  GET A WRITTEN QUOTATION!!!

Peninsular Yachts:
It's the only true chandlery on the island. They stock many items, including West Marine products, as well as Lavac toilets, Isotherm fridges, Trojan and AC Delco deep-cycle batteries. Agents for MarineDeck 2000 and MacGregor sailboats. If not in stock, order anything through them from the West Marine catalogue and pay catalogue price. If you can wait for their regular monthly shipments, shipping is free (50 percent on electronics and flammable goods). If urgent, you pay half shipping cost. The marina and resort is located on its own island, and the hardstand, wrapped around
