PrintE-mail Langkawi: Night Club News

Mark: 09 Dec. 2009

Langkawi just got a brand new, big, professional Night Club:

The Eagle Rock Café at Awana Porto Malai

It is situated on the ground floor of the Awana Porto Malai complex, facing the sea.
The Happy Hour begins at 17.00 – you can sit outside and watch the Sunset until at 9pm the band will start to play. The band is the well known ‘7 of Us’ – which was performing at the TopTen before.

TopTen and Eagle Rock Café are under the same management. That explains the experience shown in this setup. The club is spacious: first there is an ‘entrance’ room where you can sit and talk and inside the main area, there is plenty of space, a huge bar, a big stage and a part with a huge TV projection screen.

I was told, that the music played in this Club will be more the ‘Hard Rock Café’ – Style, Rock with melodies – where as the TopTen in Kuah goes more in the direction of DISCO Sound.

Costs:
Happy hour (from 17pm to 21pm): you get a Tiger Draft for RM 15.00, and one free.
From 9pm on there is an entrance fee of RM 25.00. This includes a pint of beer.
A can of beer (Tiger) costs RM 15.00

There is an other Night Spot that has opened up short time ago:

The ‘Bar Centro’ at Telaga.

"We are open until 3am with a dj most nights and a live band one night a week (ultimately we will have a live band every night). “

At the moment the bar seems to have some problems to get people. I was there a few days ago and it was closed when it should have been open. Trying to find out the state of the affair by phone, revealed a manager who had resigned and 2 other phone numbers that were not picked up during the official opening hours of the Bar..….

So I would suggest to phone first if you want to check it out.

The Para Para Night Club

in the Langkawi Fair is closed with no notice why or until when. I was told, this was so since about one week. Peeking inside I saw, that part of the furniture is removed. It was impossible so far to get the phone no of the operator - if anybody knows anything about this place, please let us know.
