THE PURSUIT OF A DREAM

Always in search of new spa and wellness services launched on our beautiful island, I am excited to explore the treatment offerings of CACI’S BEAUTY AND WELLNESS, a center that recently opened in Kuah. I read through the menu and it is like unwrapping a birthday present. Eyebrow threading? I’m on cloud nine! Much faster than plucking, and way more precise than waxing, this ancient Indian hair removal technique is my absolute favorite. Since CACI’S BEAUTY AND WELLNESS is the only place on the entire island offering this service, I hurry up to make an appointment before the word spreads, and I end up queuing…
I arrive ahead of my booking time to meet the owner, Kiran Sahijwani, and it is certainly worth it! For what truly makes this place special is Kiran’s vision. Of Indian origins, she is passionate about Ayurveda and traditional Indian beauty rituals, and so - instead of duplicating the treatment offerings of other local spas - her menu includes a variety of treatments hard to find anywhere else. With silky, hairless skin being on the top of the wish list of many guests, CACI’S BEAUTY AND WELLNESS offers not only facial threading but also full body waxing and bleaching. The majority of the exquisite massage oils are blended in-house, following traditional Indian beauty recipes. Another highlight is the Ayurvedic Head Massage that alleviates stress, insomnia, migraine and chronic neck and shoulder stiffness. And soon, natural hair dye with Henna will be available.
One treatment that truly catches my attention is the 24 carat Gold Facial! Utilizing products from the famous Ayurvedic Skincare Line, Shahnaz, the Gold Facial is a powerful anti-aging treatment. With gold being one of the softest metals available, it easily penetrates the skin, stimulating the flow of the lymph, facilitating toxin removal, fighting free radicals and accelerating cell renewal.
We sip a refreshing tea made of ‘Limau Kasturi”, and Kiran tells me full of excitement that they just introduced Reiki, a spiritual practice developed by the Buddhist Mikao Usui. The ‘palm healing’ technique allows the practitioner to channel the universal life-force energy, releasing blockages, attuning the guest to a higher vibratory level, and facilitating self-healing. Seeing her passion, I am not surprised to learn in the end that she is a Reiki Practitioner herself.
I am so immersed in our conversation, Kiran has to remind me that the time of my treatment arrived. And so - after nearly a year on the island - I finally get my eyebrow threading. Painless, perfectly sculpted, with results that lasts nearly a month! With smile all over my face I am about to leave but Kiran insist that I experience also their aromatherapy massage.
The corridor leading to the treatment room is lit by the flickering light of candles that are artfully placed within antique bird-cages, setting me instantly in a relaxing mood. The therapist covers my eyes with a chilled eye pillow filled with soothing lavender. I listen to the tranquil sound of the trickling water fountain mingling with peaceful piano music, and melt underneath the warm gentle touch slowly working its way from my feet upwards, until the therapist reaches my shoulders, skillfully untangling the adamant knots resulting from all the hours spent typing. What a bliss!
I have long lost the sense of time and space. My body feels weightless as if I were floating. But my mind is awake, replaying my conversation with Kiran. It does not happen often that I meet somebody that enthusiastic about beauty and wellness. Eager to introduce services not available anywhere else. Determined to provide treatments that truly deliver results. CACI’S BEAUTY AND WELLNESS opened its doors only recently. But fuelled with passion, I have no doubt that Kiran’s vision of a place dedicated to overall wellbeing, uniting under one roof massage therapy, beauty services and holistic treatments, will prove a winning concept, equally appealing to locals and visitors to Langkawi.
