Last weekend, I went to the Langkawi Craft Complex on the invitation from Madam Norizan Lob, the Director of Langkawi Craft Complex.  I was greeted and met at her office which is located at Teluk Yu, Mukim Bohor, Langkawi about 21 km  from Kuah. The various section of building covers three quarter of the 32 acres piece of land.  After her brief presentation on the plans for 2012, she gave me a tour on all the section, from the lobby, meeting room, auditorium, various bazars , folk's game area, exhibition area and glass blowing and batik workshops. The auditorium and the meeting room is also opened for rental.

There are 2 museums, which is the Heritage Museum and the Cultural's & Wedding's Museum, all you need to know about Malaysian heritage and the various different culture and wedding in Malaysia. It is so huge and we spent about an hour, skipping the demonstration area as it was closed for a break. (Demonstration booth are opened daily from 10.00am - 6.00pm with a break from 1.00pm - 2.00pm)

Presenting a Langkawi Artist: KbAH

I met him one day and I was impressed by his pictures and their intensity… here was someone who definitively took his own art seriously and did WORK a lot on it…. The technique, the vision and the work came together perfectly.  I love the way he painted the rocks in his Cave Series and I love the way he paints the water in his new Boat Series. I can perceive quality, when I see it - and I hope, the guys who have the money to invest in Art can see it too....

His name is
KbAH - Khairudin Bin Abdul Hamid and he lives in Langkawi.

His details and Contact Number you can find in the Directory

Here is some ‘Water’ – just look at it, isn’t it perfect?
To see it in full size and to see more pictures go to the Picasa Site here.
