More about Shirley

Freshly graduated from Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia in 2008, Shirley was not permanantly employed for 7 months. Although she holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, she worked part-time as an accountant and as a salesperson after she graduated - due the the economy downturn, and partly because the lack of job opportunities of related fields in Langkawi. However, she did not foresee herself going any further if she continued to keep changing jobs.

She is an amateur photographer. Her interest in photography sprouted when she was 20 years old and her passion is still burning strongly until today. While studying in Melbourne in 2007, she took the chance to brush up her photography skills as there were so many photo opportunities in Australia.

She thinks that it's time to take photography to the next level. Besides earning her own income, she wants to gain working experience that allow her to gear herself in her future career. Therefore, in order to buy herself a DSLR, which is going to be replaced her current lousy compact digital camera, she decided to join Langkawi Gazette.

Besides her interest in photography, she is also passionate about food. Her 3-year stay in Penang, popularly known as food paradise, had turned her into a food lover. She loves trying out different types of food everytime she dines out. Like any other food bloggers, she takes photos of her food and blogs about her dining experiences on her site.

Being a fun-loving and easygoing person, she loves traveling around and making new friends. So, working for Langkawi Gazette as a Sales Executive is something she has been looking forward in a career. Besides being able to go around the island, she can meet new people while she works.
