Langkawi Nature Blogs
1% of the Companies’ net profit for Rainforest Aid
Mark, 5 June 2009
Who are they ?
‘JungleWalla Tours’ and ‘Stampede Design’, both Langkawi based companies, have decided to set aside and devote 1% of their net profit for the Rainforest Aid.
And what is probably even more important: they also set aside and dedicate 1% of their employees’ time (or more)…which means: it’s about practical conservation work out in the nature and not about generating a big fund.
These companies are following a "Corporate Philanthropy Model", pioneered by “Salesforce.com”.
A blog has been put up, a short time ago, which is still very virgin and does not yet contain much more than you were just reading here – but if you want to get in contact or start a discussion about Nature Conservation, that's probably a good place to start, as it states:
“This website was created to make it easy to Networking with people that have the same cause as ours internationally, meanwhile locally we have been working with corporations and establishments to contribute towards the sustainability of Langkawi. We hope you share our mission for social and environmental improvements.”
