Joycelyn's 22nd Birthday at Artisans Pizza

The day before Joycelyn's actual birthday, her boyfriend, Calvin came to Langkawi to pay her a visit and...To celebrate her 22nd birthday.

We'd been wanting to have dinner at Artisans Pizza. Me and Tifanny had been there before, but it was Joycelyn's first time. She heard good reviews about this little restaurant, which is located amidst other bigger seafood restaurants, further, Tifanny and my impression during our previous visit was not bad either. Although it's a small place, the menu offers quite a wide variety of Western and Italian food and beverages. From pizza to sandwich, from pasta to soup, from fruit juice to milkshake.

Orange Juice

Calvin had Orange Juice, which I thought was supposed to come with ice cubes. It looked nothing like fresh squeezed orange juice, but it definitely was poured out from a carton or a bottle.

Yoghurt Smoothie

Joycelyn went for Yogurt Smoothie. Her face showed a disgusted expression at her first sip, saying that it tasted weird. But she kind of liked it as she drank more of it.

Since there were only four of us, we ordered two large pizzas to share.

 Marsala Chicken

This was not too bad. Crusty pizza base topped with tomato sauce, generous amount of spicy marsala chicken, onions, entirely covered with a lot of melted mozzarella cheese and sprinkled with some herbs to enhance the flavours and to give a touch of Italian. I liked the pizza base laced with crunchy edge like this, although the pizza base they use there didn't taste homemade. Who cares! It's nice!

Satay Chicken

My friend ordered this the last time we went, and it was unforgettable. So, this time I recommended my friends to try this one. This pizza was creatively created according to the local taste preference. It's arrived with nicely marinated chicken, pineapple cubes, mushrooms, onions and topped with a substantial amount of melted mozzarella cheese. Oh, not to forget the oregano that added some fusion flavours to it. I didn't regret suggesting this as everyone seemed to enjoy it very much.
