Placing a BANNER for you

    
on nearly all the pages of the 'Langkawi Gazette' and the 'Best-of-Langkawi' website (best-of-langkawi.com).
 

On both websites the BANNERS are on the right and left side.

The BANNERS rotate, so each BANNER has the same chance to come first  on every page.

159 x 74 pixels, .jpg or .tif  file - or for a BANNER with moving content, a .gif file

You can create your own BANNER or we will do it for you.

A simple Banner is free of charge, for a Banner with moving content (e.g. 'Slide Show') we charge RM 100.00 one off.

Function

A BANNER directs the CASUAL READER to where you want to have his attention on:
- your own Website - or
- your Directory Entry on the Langkawi Gazette - or
- your Night Club Video on the Langkawi Gazette - or
- your "Restaurant Guide Entry" on the Langkawi Gazette

A BANNER is not a 'Business card' - it should make the reader CURIOUS. There is only VERY LITTLE space for text and the picture or drawing has to be very simple to be well recognized in the small format.

Sometimes it is advisable to have 2 or 3 BANNERS, e.g. one that links to the RESTAURANT, one to the Hotel and one to the Spa.

Qualification

We can give you the total Number of Impressions - how many times your BANNER has been exposed to a reader.

At the moment this number is on average around 136.000 times for each Banner in the first half year of the new 'Langkawi Gazette' (since mid April 2009).

So the number of times your BANNER would have been exposed in the first year of our existence would be around 280.000 times.

We do not yet have the figures for the 'Best-of-Langkawi' website, but it is clear, that the figures for this website will be substantially higher.

We can also give you the exact number of CLICKS that were made on your BANNER - which means of course, how many times your Website has been visited through the BANNER.

These two numbers - the times of exposure and the number of clicks, gives a percentage figure, e.g. 0.3 % (of potential readers that clicked).

Comparing this percentage figure with the percentage figure of some of your competitors on the same site, can give a clue, if your BANNER is a good, effective one - or not. We can advise you on this after your BANNER has been up for some time.

All this information we can give you for BOTH websites.
